Confidence while teaching can mean any number of things, it can range from having confidence in your knowledge of the material being learned to having confidence that your teaching acumen is second to none. Though these two (and many other) ‘confidences’ are important the most critical confidence a teacher can have is much more general, and tougher to describe than that.
Recent technological advances have affected many areas of our lives, including the way we communicate, collaborate, learn, and, of course, teach. Those advances necessitate an expansion of our vocabulary, producing definitions such as digital natives, digital immigrants, and the topic of this post—21st-century teacher. Isearched for twitter hashtags and amazon books, and the results were just the same—nothing for 20th-century teacher and a lot for 21st: #teacher21, #21stcenturyskills, #21stcteaching, and quite a few books on 21st-century teaching and learning.

what makes a good teacher? well, i think that a good teacher is able to listen well to a student's concerns, answer questions well, explain anything that the student might not understand.
I remember my favorite teacher in elementary school, she was always able to listen attentively to the students and in reverse we were able to listen attentively to her when she would explain or teach us something.
The timing was good in another way too. Ofsted has just issued a report praising the innovative teacher-training programme, teach first. Content knowledge this is when teachers have a deep knowledge of the subject that they teach and can communicate content effectively to their students. As well as a strong understanding of the material being taught, teachers must also understand the ways students think about the content, be able to evaluate the thinking behind students’ own methods, and identify students’ common misconceptions.
However, education is the same as any other profession. There are those who work enormously hard at their craft getting better on a daily basis and there are those that are just simply there never trying to improve. Even though this type of teacher is in the minority, these bad teachers largely contribute to making all teachers look ineffective. It is a frustrating reality in education, but there are bad teachers.
Effective teachers elicit student participation as much as possible. Studies show that student participation is directly related to successfully learning a language. Passive, quiet students most likely aren’t learning as much as those who participate actively and regularly. If you notice a more reserved student, there’s no need to panic; just make your approach more collaborative.
You should have sufficient knowledge and mastery of the subjects you are handling. However, you should also remain open to new facts. Teaching is a two-way process. You share your learning just as you learn from your students. Learning how to become a stem teacher may be easy, but developing oneself to be a competent and effective teacher is far more different. It takes more practice and extra patience to install efficacious learning. And if you think you’re still not doing it right, you need not fret. A great teacher does not evolve overnight. With the qualities mentioned above, paired with genuine care for students and the enthusiasm for self-growth, you can surely develop into the kind of stem teacher you have always wanted to be.
Good curriculum and instruction for gifted learners begins with good curriculum and instruction. It's difficult, if not impossible, to develop the talent of a highly able student with insipid curriculum and instruction. Like all students, gifted learners need learning experiences that are rich. That is, they need learning experiences that are organized by key concepts and principles of a discipline rather than by facts. They need content that is relevant to their lives, activities that cause them to process important ideas at a high level, and products that cause them to grapple with meaningful problems and pose defensible solutions. They need classrooms that are respectful to them, provide both structure and choice, and help them achieve more than they thought they could. These are needs shared by all learners, not just those who are gifted. But good instruction for gifted learners must begin there.
