The priests are one of (if not) the most important classes in ragnarök online.
With their healing and support spells, it's almost impossible not having one in a big party from the game. They are normally a supportive class, standing in any kind of party, but can also solo when using a battle priest build (not recommended) or a magnus exorcismus build; this last one is recommended for killing undead monster property.
Discipline priests are unique in that they generate a lot of their healing while contributing to the overall damage output of a raid group. While putting out an adequate amount of damage, they also feature the strongest burst healing in the game. On top of this, they also feature standard healing and damage mitigation spells that come in handy in any group.
Jump-cast your skills so you lose no up-time while you’re running around the map to heal your screaming allies. Healing prayer won’t heal your allies if you jump cast it, celestial blessings will work. Always have your allies buffed and healed up if you’re playing the heal/buff priest build, i can’t stress this enough. I’ve often ran dungeons and we had a priest but he did absolutely nothing! priests are a support based class so play them like one!.
The light in which many priests bathe is brilliant and effervescent, granting them immense holy power. But the brightest light casts the darkest shadow—and from within this blackness, a rival power dwells.
Shadow priests (or shadowpriests) fully embrace this opposing polarity, their faith equally resolute as their holy counterparts—but focused on shadowy magics and mental manipulation. Like all priests, they dedicate much of their lives to worship—but they derive their power from the void , straying dangerously close to the domain of the old gods. To truly understand such ancient, corruptive influence is to be driven mad. This is the state in which these dark priests thrive, embracing insanity and feeding off of the minds of their opponents to reach terrifying new limits.
Shadow word: void replaces

and doing more damage.

Level 15: recommended choice - shadow word: void shadow word: void - is an active ability that replaces mind blast, it has 2 charges and deals higher damage while generating more insanity than mind blast, but has slightly longer cooldown. Shadow word: void will help to smooth out your rotation, thanks to its 2 possible charges that will prevent you from losing casts when both.
Level 10: desperate prayer — instantly heals the caster for 1324 to 1562. Level 20: feedback — the priest becomes surrounded with anti-magic energy. Any successful spell cast against the priest will burn 105 of the attacker’s mana, causing 1 shadow damage for each point of mana burned. Lasts 15 sec.
Anacrusys 1 month ago#11 shadow and disc priest are just as easy to level in the open world as ret pld. Shadow is as fast as ret, disc a little slower but safer than both. Imo your friend is wrong leveling a priest is not miserable. I think he is remembering a long time ago when shadow was not mobile and not as good questing. That said, i always spam dungeons from 15-90 on my healers and tanks because there is almost no queue so its faster than questing. I quest from 90-120.

"stheal's guide to playing a priest in ragnarok m: eternal love" aims to help other fellow priests and interested parties bring out the maximum potential of their support class. It does not, in any way, assume that these are the only ways to play a priest and moreover, isn't a standardized set of rules and playstyle that everyone should adhere to.
