The program has an abundance of benefits for all the students. B. Sc. (honors) nutrition & dietetics is extremely valuable to the students as it allows them to have in-depth knowledge of food, exercise, nutrition and the ways to stay healthy. The program is exclusively beneficial for those students who want to serve society by dispersing health-related information.
Nutrition science (bs) dietitian nutritionist program (for those interested in becoming an rdn) the dpd will maintain its acend accreditation status through may 31, 2020. Students who do not complete all dpd course requirements by may 31, 2020 will not be considered graduates of an acend-accredited dpd. Many students who take a degree in nutrition aim to become a registered dietitian (rdn). To become an rdn, it is necessary to:
obtain a b. S. In nutrition/complete didactic program in dietetics. Complete a dietetic internship/coordinated dietetics program. Pass the registered dietitian certification exam from the academy of nutrition and dietetics.
Please note that according to the new 2024 graduate degrees requirements for rdns, it is necessary to obtain a masters degree in nutrition/dietetics to become eligible for the certification exam.
The duties of a college nutritionist are different than other specialty areas in this profession. The environment needs to be considered and that puts a greater emphasis on different facets of nutrition.
