The staff at the reference desk help users engaged in legal research to locate materials, use legal resources effectively, and answer questions about the collection. The staff does not provide substantive advice on legal problems, nor can they interpret legal materials. Reference assistance to persons outside the academic community is provided to the extent possible, but first priority necessarily goes to unc law students and faculty.
