Pretty much everyone has been affected by the covid-19 social distancing requirements. Almost everything we do here at williamson & gentilini involves face-to-face meetings with clients. For new estate planning clients, we usually see the client twice in person – once at the initial consultation and once to sign the completed documents. However, in an effort to reduce the potential exposure to our clients and our staff, our practice for the time being will be to have the initial consultation by phone and the signing of documents in person. A valid will or trust must also include language that makes the intent of the testator (the person creating the document) clear.
