1. Daily Activities

Organized daily activities * delegated tasks among residential members * supervised and served lunch to members * responsible for daily announcements supported activities director with daily activities programming including restorative dinning, special activities and facility functions and affairs. Facilitated daily activities and encouraged participation in assisted living and memory care areas. Supervised residents with severe developmental disabilities in daily activities and off site trips.

Assists with planning, coordinating activities: reality orientation, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outside trips, special events, and one-to-one visits, as indicated. Assists with preparing and distributing the monthly calendar and newsletter. Assists with purchasing supplies for activities as needed. Distributes mail daily to residents. Performs and directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.

7. Activity Groups

Working with other members of the ips team. Conducting all scheduled groups and individual activities. Assist with decorating facility. Attends outings – operates bus lift and all other bus equipment. Attends team member meetings. Assist with resident meals (serve/feed). Monitor overhead music and tv’s in public areas assist with theme weeks and special events. Take sensory/activity cart around to individual rooms.

8. Activity Director

Assist nursing home nurse in implementing nursing activity programs. Assist nursing home nurses in developing activity programs for resident patients. Monitor resident behaviors and communicate to nursing home activity directors. Initiate and implement monthly activity calendars. Maintain and manage activity attendance charts. Assist in preparing and displaying holiday themes. Interact with registered nurses and physicians in delivering healthcare to resident patients.

Documentation of attendance for all groups and individual activities. Perform the hydration/snack cart pass. Assist in animal care and programming. Maintain the in-house channel/character generator.
